Here is how all works...
WAVDJ vm108 + Kaossilator.
This is not a proper life, I did this live with one hand only and wish not help at all.
(The other hand was filming the thing)
In this video, I didn't include the Korg melody, the sound bend from the wheel and I didn't have much flexibility to work as I do with the kaossilator PLUS, this is a very short demonstration. Usually, this track takes 10 to 15 minutes from start to finish and is a progressive thing.
In this case, is a very quick demonstration only, but it works !!
So... off we go then :
Questions ??
Please... do it!

Hello and here it is the video explanation of the machine.
I did lost hours writing about the machine but I believe here is where everyone can really understand how all this works
Point to refer:
* I did forgot to say, I can change the time (bpm) of the drums in real time.
* I did forget to say, I can change all the sounds and drum patterns in this machine in any button.
* I didn't show the effect wheel working but she do scratch and pitch bend in the sounds when they are play true the korg.
After this , I think is all well explained in the video.
Sorry about my English but I am a foreigner and I didn't born to be a Hollywood start...
so damn it !
Here we go, from the studio direct to your computer screen, we proudly present...

This is my first experience with the music and visuals.
I produced the music, the video and some of the Sculptures + the draws.
All the other images are DADAism art and photos.
(NOTE:) For a better viewing experience, change the video settings to *48P and wait 5 minutes for the video to upload completely. Then click play.
I hope you enjoy it.

Altered states opus 1
19/01/2010
10:18 minutes/ sec track
Equipment:
WAVDJ VM108 + Kaossilator
The sounds in the tracks are progressive. This is live music and is not made on the computer, will take time to have all the tracks constructed.
This is the first track with both machines WAVDJ and KAOSSILATOR.
At this point, I was doing an experiment with the sounds at the start.
If you can be aware, the sounds will be out of tempo... but not!
This makes a very strange effect on the music as after the beat starts you will feel like the sounds are out of tempo but after some seconds, you will notice, that the sounds are connecting fine.
This is a mind game in the music that I would like to play more with ;)
On the other hand, I can change this by starting the tracks with the drums and after a few seconds, stopping the drums and adding some sounds.
After leaving the sounds play for some time, if I switch the drums again they will start on tempo.
Mental music tricks.
Get your head on it ;)

Zoom into the Track Project
I gonna give a close look of what I do to construct a track.
(NOTE, This may change until I have the first track ready to show) but anyways, this is the main buttons I use to construct a track.
Composition:
1 Drum loop
3 backgrounds
3 different sound patterns on kaossilator
Drums

So, I have now 6 drum loops set in the 3rd line. I click the first button of the 3rd line and the drum loop start.
Background

The first 3 buttons are 3 different backgrounds, set to play with the first drum loop button. Now I have the drums and the first background playing at the same time (tempo - bpm).
Kaossilator

I have choose 6 or 7 sounds that go well with the drum and background. Is funny how the sounds of the kaossilator really transform all the felling of the track once I start to apply sound FX. Sure I can put more drums with the kaossilator if I want.
Mixer

After play around for some time , I change to the next background.
In this case, I stop totally the first background loop and leave the drums and the kaossilator working.together.
Now, I start the second background. Some times I need to start the background sound and stop a few times because is not always that I can get the sound to start exactly at the same tempo of the drums but usually, I get it right after 2 or 3 attempts and this makes a nice intro to the sound too.
Next, I hope I can post a track :)
I am delay this because is many things that can be explore and used in wavdj that I want to try everything before give the final result.
Will be here at some point !

Track structure (part 2)
NO BASS
After some experiments with bass
The track's structure is minimal, when I drop the bass in the track, most part of the other small sounds are inaudible. I don't know why but this can be because of the frequency of the sound
Another thing that put me off of the bass... the minimal feeling of the tracks changing totally and I am forced to have a melody
At the moment, I am choosing the right sounds of the kaossilator

Thanks to Bratenstein
http://loops.bratenstein.de
Later I will try to make a video of the all happening and post on youtube.
For now, my mission is to get background sounds to add to the wavdj and make drum loops.
Kaossilator have drum loops already but I am making the drum loops direct in the wavdj software, this way I am able to drop the drums and the background sounds in and out any time I want and they dont need to be repeating all the time
The background sounds, I get from websites with free loops and samples and I am making a choice of the more similar sounds I need to make this music project.
This Background sounds (loops) I am doing with the help of ableton software before I add them to the machine.
Like that, I can make the loops long as I like and I can add different patterns and other sounds.
Back to Kaossilator
A part of all the technical explanations above, I have to specify something for people who dont know about this techy stuff:
The kaossilator have
7 sound category's
1- Leads
2- Acoustic
3- Bass
4- Chords
5- Se (FX)
6- Drum (single beats)
7- Drum (Patterns)
This is the basic 100 sounds
Scales (key)
Kaossilator have 31 different keys, like C / C#/ D / E #/ E# / G/ G# etc...
Some examples are:
Chromatic
Ionian
Dorian
Majore Blues
Major Pentatonic
Gypsy scale
Arabian scale
spanish scale
Egyptian Scale
Octave interval
And go on, and on, and on..........
Gate Arpeggio Patterns
This is effects that can be ad to the sounds a part from the normal effects wish cut the sound into short beats
The kaossilator have 49 different arpeggio patters
Mush more can be say about the kaossilator but for now, I think I did explained the best of my knowledge.
More about this in the next chapter ;)
Chapter 6 - Mixer

Mixer ins and outs
The 6 volume of the WAVDJ mixer are:
1- Microphone
2- fx
3- Keyboard
4 - CDroom
5 - Line in
6 - seq (drums volume)
All of this are individual volume channels and they can be switch on or off.
On the side of this, is the master volume, this one command all the sound level of the machine.
At the moment , I am using just the FX , Key, Line in and Seq.
I can connect something else in the MIC line in or use the CDROOM to add other sounds but that will be too much for just 2 hands and 1 head :)
Ideas ? Suggestions ?
